How to register your child at the school?

Process

  • Infant school and primary school:

Upon your arrival in Massy, firstly you must register your child at the town hall (see below the list of documents to supply). Then, they will be able to join the school.  We will accompany you in this process.

  • Secondary school:

Upon your arrival in Massy, we have a meeting with the National Careers Advice Centre, who sends your child's file to the School Board. Your child will be asked to take an evaluation test, and will then be assigned to the closest secondary school. We will accompany you in this process.

Documents to supply

  • Infant school and primary school:

- Your birth certificate, with the surname and forename of your parents

- Your marriage certificate

- Your child's birth certificate, with the surname and forename of their parents

- Your child's vaccination records

- Their academic results of the previous year

  • Secondary school:

- Your child's passport

- Your child's vaccination records

- Their academic results of the previous year

If these certificates are hand-written, you will need an official translation, which can be done in Massy when you arrive before the start of the session (for around €35 per certificate). But the timeframe for translation can be up to three days, which is why we recommend that the translation is carried out before your arrival, so that your children can start school on time.
